Competition Dancing in Second Life
2LDance.org and SavoyBallroom.org are proud to introduce Dance 401: DanceCOMP - Competition Dance in Second Life.
DanceCOMP brings the fun and excitement of the real world's DanceSPORT and other competitive dancing organizations to the virtual world of Second Life.  Our first prototype Dance 401 Classroom and Practice Center is in development now (December 2024.) 
We hope to launch competitions at Savoy in Q1 2025. ​
How does it work?
Dancers perform as a group to a wide variety of music ranging from big band swing, Latin, pop, rock and even Broadway musicals.  With each new song, dancers must select a dance that is compatible with the type and tempo of the music. Smooth transitions and creative dance selections are rated by a panel of judges.  Competitive dance costumes are also evaluated.  At the end of a extended open round, four couples are selected for the Final Four Finale, which will determine the award levels for each of them.
