On March 3rd, 2019, Creations Park lost its original inspiration, and Second Life lost its most celebrated senior. Fran Serenade passed away at 92 after a lifetime of loving and serving others in both of the worlds she lived in. Fran was beloved by all who knew her, including her Linden friends. Her daughter, Barbie Alchemi, and son, AlmostThere Inventor, built Creations Park to be a wonderworld to stimulate the mind, specifically for Fran and others. The video the Draxtor made about Fran and the medical research into Parkinson’s done at Creations Park was called one of the most important ever made about Second Life by CEO Ebbe Linden.
A Celebration of Fran’s life will be held at Savoy Ballroom in Creations Park on Saturday, May 11, 2019, from 11AM to 9PM SLT. Some of the very best live singers in Second Life will be performing in her honor. Most knew Fran and some had performed at her 90th birthday party, also at Savoy. We are very thankful to the following performers for their support for Fran. (Scroll down for Artist BIOs.) 2PM Phil Setner
About me, well I was born in Edinburgh, Scotland and still live there today, I started singing later on probably in my teens but never really in front of anyone ,I guess it wasn’t until I was in my twenties I started to sing in front of people and then it was just close friends and family . To be honest most of my singing has been done online and Pal talk was the first program I started to sing on. As I got used to it I improved my setup and also the quality of sound and started to record a few tracks. I do not write my own music and I sing only cover tracks.
I joined Second life in 2008 and within about 3 months I was singing live at a number of venues although not to a lot of people, but I enjoyed it all the same. My love for the oldies I guess I got from my mother and fathers' new year parties - all my aunties and uncles would come to our house they would all be sat around the living room and my mother would start a sing song and one by one she would go around the room and each person would sing a song of their choice. I would have been about 7 or 8 at the time but we had these parties every year and they became well known throughout our family. The songs of choice would be the golden oldies and a wide range of songs also but I would just sit on the arm of a chair and listen, my mother had a lovely voice and always enjoyed singing so I guess I took after her in that way. Mind you I think she was a better singer than me by far but like her I enjoy singing
Phil is best known for his ballads and love songs, but happily steps out of his comfort zone, performing more modern music from the likes of The Script, The Commitments, Snow Patrol, David Grey, Paul Weller, Paul Young, Travis, The Verve, The Stranglers, Paulo Nuttini, Ragnboneman, Ed Sheeran and Robbie Williams plus many more. It doesn’t matter who you are, if you're into the music of now and then, you will appreciate the vocals of Phil Setner.

8PM JaeSands
Jay Sands “In The Style of Sinatra”
“It’s Frank’s world…and we’re just lucky to be living in it.”… Dean Martin.
That is the world of Jay Sands, who as a child lived and breathed the music and the mechanics of Frank Sinatra, learning his inflections and the very tones of Sinatra’s voice. Including Sinatra’s diction and annunciation, breathing mannerisms and how, he (Frank), applied all of these techniques to produce “The Voice” that sang to the world. So much so, that in his later years, Jay would find himself singing not only the praises, but the phrases of Sinatra. Jay Sands grew up on the streets of the Bronx in New York City. These were fun years for Jay, running around the streets and learning what it really means to be a Native New Yorker.
Then came, “Blue Moon Entertainment”, a Karaoke company Jay spearheaded, which gave him the opportunity to start his own business. “Blue Moon Entertainment” became one of the first independent Karaoke shows in New York at the time. The shows were so successful that the KJ’s to follow started with or were trained by Jay Sands. Jay continued on, playing the top clubs in the Bronx, Westchester and greater New York area, and then “In the Style of Sinatra” was born. Blue Moon Entertainment gave Jay the means to work on doing what he so loved to do, sing the songs of Sinatra.
Before long Jay was doing such venues as “Don’t Tell Mama’s” on restaurant row in New York City, to sold out rooms and to the restaurants of Little Italy and venues which stretched from New York To Florida and beyond. Jay did not stop there. After moving to Florida Jay was soon serenading crowds from the balcony of the piazza at Universal Studio’s Portofino Bay hotel in Orlando Florida for almost 2 years, along with special shows throughout the year and the hotel night club as well.
Then came venues such as the Ormond Beach Theater in Ormond Beach Florida and the Melbourne Theater in Melbourne Florida as well as the private party circuit up and down the east coast to amazed and satisfied audiences.
The great Don K. Reed, DJ from New York’s famous oldies radio station WCBS FM 101.1, said, when asked for a quote about Jay Sands, …”Jay Sands not only swings on stage, but on his CD as well” after hearing Jay at a local New York performance. Since then Jay Sands has continued singing the phrases of Frank Sinatra and hopes to be bringing this unique show to your patrons as well.
Now we are here, in the present and Jay Sands is still singing the phrases of Frank Sinatra, still is ...”Keeping the music alive” and wishes to thank you for taking the time to learn about …Jay Sands and ”In The Style of Sinatra”.
Here are just a few quotes from audience members after the show about Jay Sands and “In the Style of Sinatra”…
”If you close your eyes you think your listening to Frank Sinatra”…” What a wonderful show”…”Thank you for taking me back to the days spent on line outside the Paramount Theater”…”Thank you for keeping the music alive”.
